While much has been done in the field of education to integrate technologies, the most significant impact has been for children with disabilities. The title of the article below includes the words, "changing lives". Programs like Refreshabraille are helping kids like Kyle Beasley participate in ways not thought of even a decade ago. This is Kyle's Dad. I work in the IT department at the WI school for the blind. It is absolutely amazing to watch how kids engage this technology. Whether they are blind, sighted, or have other disabilities the can leverage the technology to gain and analyze information. It is our responsibility to teach them how to think of new way to use technology that does not yet exist. I read your post to Kyle and he got excited that he was mentioned. He is now working on his spelling words for the week using his iPad and Refreshabraille. I found your blog because I was looking for your app rating rubric and found my son's name. Very cool!
